Dennis D. Carroll

Dennis D. “Denny” Carroll, 71, of Rensselaer, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 20, 2014 at his home. He was born in Chicago, IL on Oct. 21, 1943, son of the late John J. and Grace (Kaprowski) Carroll. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1965-1971. On Nov. 30, 1968, in Downers Grove, IL, he married Barbara Fesuk.

Denny was a truck driving instructor for Driveco in Gary, IN for 22 years, retiring in 2012. He was a member of the American Legion and he enjoyed woodworking and working on cars.

Denny is survived by his loving family: wife Barbara Carroll of Rensselaer; one son, Rob Carroll (wife: Blain) of Rensselaer; one daughter, Ann Cercone (husband: Vincent) of Rensselaer; and one grandson, Oliver Carroll of Rensselaer. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014 from noon until 2 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. A memorial service with military honors will be held on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Chaplain Bob Rawlins officiating.
