Desdia Curtis

Desdia Curtis, age 95, of Brook, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at George Ade Care Facility. Desida was born on February 27, 1918 in Somerset, Kentucky to James and Senie Flynn(Keith). She moved to the area when she was seven years old and attended Brook schools where she graduated in 1937. Desdia married John William Curtis in the fall of 1937, and to them were born two children; George who passed away in 1993 and Jackie Whaley who survives.

She worked for many years at Better Coil & Transformer and Permanite, and in her spare time loved to knit, sew and read.

Surviving along with her daughter Jacqueline (Jackie) Whaley (husband Charlie) of Brook are four Grandchildren, thirteen Great Grandchildren and seven Great-Great Grandchildren.

Mrs. Curtis was preceded in death by her parents, one son George, six brothers and three sisters.

A family interment service will take place for Desdia, and son George at a later date at the Shaker Prairie Cemetery in Carlisle, Indiana.
