Donald Siegrist

Donald J. Siegrist, 76, of Rensselaer, passed away January 27, 2010 at Jasper County Hospital. He was born in Rensselaer May 6, 1933, son of the late Carl and Mary Evelyn (Nesius) Siegrist. He was educated in the Rensselaer public schools and was a lifetime Rensselaer resident and farmer until retiring in the late 1980's. Don served his country as a Marine from 1953 through 1956. Don was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, American Legion Post #29 and a "Life Member" of V.F.W. Post #1279 both of Rensselaer; the 40 & 8 Vol. 1219; "Life Member" of AM Vet Club of Monticello. Don is survived by a daughter, Su Ellyn (Mrs. Sheldon) Rody of Roanoke, IN; sisters, Patricia J. (Mrs. Tom) Korniak of Rensselaer, Sheri (Mrs. Adrian) Jones of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Marilyn Black of Indianapolis, sister-in-law, Judy Siegrist of Rensselaer along with several nieces and nephews. Don's Special Friend Trula Alliss of Rensselaer also survives. A "Memorial Service" will be held at a later date.
