Doris Shoup

Doris Jean "Dotty" Shoup, 79, of Rensselaer, passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 24, 2012 at her home. Dotty was born in Hammond Feb. 4, 1933, daughter of the late Howard and Emma (McCollum) Day. She had been a Rensselaer resident for the past 15 years, having previously lived in Hammond, Lakeland, FL, and Dayton, OH. Dotty enjoyed playing Bingo, shopping, and collecting porcelain dolls.

Dotty is survived by six children, Cheryl Brockman of Toledo, OH, Michael Troutner (Bernice) of Massachusetts, Patti Morales (Ben) of Rensselaer, William Casey Hubbard (Debbie) of Rensselaer, Cindy Rivera of New Mexico, and Liz Austin (Eddie) of Rensselaer; one sister, Gloria Ring of Washington State; and one brother, Dewey Day (Sharon) of Oregon. Twenty-one grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren also survive. Dotty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Barry Lynn Shoup; one son, James Patrick Hubbard; and two brothers, Ralph Day and Jack Day.

Per Dotty's wishes, cremation will take place and a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer.
