Edmere Bertha Falk

Edmere Bertha Falk, 87, of Morocco, Indiana passed away at her home early Friday morning, April 5, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born in Lake Village, Indiana on November 30, 1936, the daughter of Leroy and Edmere (Garvais) Smart.

On July 25, 1954, she married her husband of 59 years, Donald J. Falk. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2013.

Edmere worked as a bookkeeper for 40 years, retiring from Wilson Brothers Grain Elevator. She was a member of the United Church of Morocco. An avid quilter, she taught quilting lessons to many ladies around the Morocco community. She also had a green thumb when it came to growing beautiful flowers and tending to her garden. Edmere and Donald loved wintering in Gulf Shores, Alabama where they made many friends.

She is survived by her two children: Mike Falk (Sandy) and Debbie (Falk) Selby (Thomas Griffin); one brother, David Smart (Debbie); seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Falk; parents, Leroy and Edmere Smart; brother Richard Smart; sister Sandy Sypult; and infant brother Lawson Smart.

In keeping with Edmere’s wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edmere’s name may be made to: VIAQuest Hospice, 724 W. Navajo St., West Lafayette, IN 47906.
