Edna Louann Cooper

Edna Louann “Lou” Cooper, 70, of Mt. Ayr, Indiana passed away at her home on Thursday, April 14, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born in DeMotte on January 21, 1952 to the late Rastus B. and Donna S. (Losh) Luttrell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Edwin J. Reed, Jr.; two brothers, David B. Luttrell and Randall Joseph Luttrell; a niece, Terra L. Dyer; and a nephew, Scotty P. Hughes.

Lou is survived by her husband, Albert Cooper whom she wed on August 1, 2009; a son, Bryan D. Carter; a daughter, Missy (Donna) Stiltz; two sisters, Sandy (Paul) Hughes and Grace Carter; one step-daughter, Lori Simmons; one step-son, Alan (JoAnn) Cooper; 13 grandkids: Josette, Micah, Shawn, Cassandra, Heaven, Daniel, Jessica, Zabrina, Leangela, Bryanda, Nicholas, Brylee and Bryanah; four step-grandkids; 18 great-grandkids; and three step-great-grandkids. Also surviving are special sister-in-law Joann Cooper and special friend Silas Johnston.

Lou enjoyed playing the piano and singing. Church was her favorite place to be. She attended New Beginnings Family Fellowship in Winamac. She loved her family dearly and loved spending time with them.

Visitation will be Monday, April 18, 2022 from 3-7 p.m. Central Time at Steinke Funeral Home, 403 N. Front Street, Rensselaer, IN. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. Eastern Time at New Beginnings Family Fellowship, 760 N. U.S. 35, Winamac, IN. Rev. Brent Smith officiating. Visitation at the church one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be at DeMotte Cemetery. Steinke Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
