Eleanor Cain

Eleanor “June” Cain, 83, of Rensselaer, Indiana passed away peacefully Saturday morning, October 10, 2020. She was born in Knox, Indiana on June 8, 1937, daughter of the late Roy Rose and Christina (Hunt) Rose. She was a 1956 graduate of Knox High School.

On November 6, 1965, in Remington, Indiana she married William A. Cain. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2015.

June was a homemaker. She loved family gatherings and holidays. She was an avid reader, an avid shopper, and she loved going to garage sales.

She is survived by her five children: Karla Jeanne Doxtater, Carolyn Joan Atherton, Jacqueline Sue Atherton, Jonnie Kay Schultz (John), and Robert Allen Cain (Teresa); one sister, Luella Rose Cofer; one brother, Keith Rose; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchilden; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her faithful canine companion, Max.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers: Billy Rose, Robert Rose, and Ronald Rose; and three sisters: Shirley Palm, Judy Rose, and Carol Hindle.

Private family services will be held with burial at Weston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in June’s memory may be made to the Friends of the Jasper County Animal Shelter.
