Ellamae Williams

Ellamae Williams, age 105, of Goodland, Indiana passed away Friday afternoon, September 15, 2023 at George Ade Memorial Health Care Center. She was born in Cumberland, Maryland on November 3, 1917, the daughter of Edward Wright and Lily (Piper) Wright. Her marriage was to the late Merle A. Williams.

Ellamae worked for Better Coil in Goodland for many years, retiring at the age of 83. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing with her husband Merle. Together they took many fishing trips to Minnesota. She loved gardening and was known for growing large, delicious tomatoes. Ellamae was a very generous person and supported several children overseas in Ethiopia and Mexico. She was a lovely lady.

She is survived by one daughter, Jane Cox; 19 grandchildren: Brian (Tammy) Cox, James Cox, Steven (Jennifer) Cox, Stacy (Gordon) Palmer, Junelle (Tommy) Chops, Kenneth M. Webb, James Webb, Timothy Webb, Janet Webb, Kenneth H. Ardire, Renee Airdire Combs, Temple Webb, Yori Webb, Deidre Webb, JoElla Skaggs, Betty (David) Wilson, Laura (Chris) Long, Lyle (Unjue) Webb, and Dana Lock; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her very good friend, Geraldine Burton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merle A. Williams; four children: Kenneth Ardire, Duane E. Webb, Lyle J. Webb, and John E. Webb; son-in-law James Cox; two brothers, Earl and John; and one sister, Ruthy.
