Esther Linder

Esther Fern Linder, 92 of Rensselaer passed away May 19th in Tempe, Arizona. She was born in Brookston, IN on February 10, 1918 a daughter of the late Walter L. and Clara E. Leonard. She was a graduate of Round Grove High School and Illinois Wesleyan University with a Music Degree. She later received a teaching degree and taught school in Fair Oaks for many years. Esther was a lifetime area resident until 18 months ago when she went to make her home with her daughter in Tempe, Arizona. On April 23, 1943 in Brookston she married Leslie C. Linder. He died in 1993. Esther played the organ for over 80 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she played the organ for many years and was very active in many Church activities. A son and daughter survive, Stanley Linder (wife, Catherine) of Seattle, Washington and Carol (Mrs. Peter) Fejes of Tempe, Arizona. There are 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren surviving. Her husband, parents, 1 sister and 5 brothers preceded her in death. Memorials are suggested to Jasper County Hospice or to Donor's Choice.
