Everett Manns

Everett Carl Manns, 81, of Rensselaer, passed away at his home Sunday morning, Nov. 25, 2012. Carl was born in Salyersville, KY on Oct. 19, 1931, son of the late Bernard and Celia (Howard) Manns. On Nov. 27, 1954, he married Pearl Shirley Vaughn who passed away July 17, 1991. On Jan. 2, 1993, Carl married Retta Green who survives.


Carl served his Country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954. He worked as a manager for McGill Manufacturing for 32 years, retiring in 1986. After his retirement he continued to farm. Carl served on the Election Board for Barkley Township and he enjoyed raising livestock and farming.


Carl is survived by his wife Retta Manns; one son, Steven Manns of Chicago, IL; four daughters, Rita Manns McCorkel of Valparaiso, Linda Flora (Brian) of Delphi, Wanda Manns of Naperville, IL, and Melody Manns at home; two brothers, Bill Manns of Rensselaer and Dick Manns of South Padre, TX; and two sisters, Maxine Miller of Francesville and Maud Campbell of San Pierre. Six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Shirley and two brothers.


Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 from 3-8 p.m. (CST) at the Full Gospel Tabernacle, 11549 N. Hwy. 49, Wheatfield, one half mile south of State Road 10. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer, with Pastor Ken Patrick officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Full Gospel Tabernacle.
