Flora Joan Carlson

Flora Joan Carlson, 87, of Morocco, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021 at George Ade Memorial Health Care Center. She was born September 4, 1933 to William Howard Porter and Fannie Marie (Reigle) Porter. She was a 1951 graduate of Morocco High School. On July 24, 1951 she married Ronald Earl Carlson. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2002.

Joan was a secretary for Northway Products in Rensselaer. She was a member of the Morocco First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed ballroom dancing with her husband and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two sons, Van (Vicki) Carlson of Morocco and Lyle (Cynthia) Carlson of Crown Point; three grandchildren: Jody (Sara) Carlson, Deidra (John) Howe, and Heather (Chad) Pirowski; and six great-grandchildren: Ren and Drew Carlson, Cooper and Mara Howe, and Alex and Finn Pirowski.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ronald; and three sisters: Wilma Smith, Wanda Baker, and Ellyn Freeland.
