Florence Ardella Thomas, 90, of Laconia, Indiana, formerly of Rensselaer, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 10, 2017 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Nevada, Missouri on June 8, 1927 to Russell and Lilly (Bardell) Clark.
On February 13, 1949, in Crescent City, Illinois, she married Earl Thomas. He preceded her in death on January 29, 1982.
Florence was a homemaker devoting all her love and time to her family. Florence has left to cherish her memories her three daughters: Monica Osborn (husband: Robert) of Laconia, Indiana, Cindy Kay Thomas (partner: V/d Hurk) of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and Sandy Mae Futch (husband: David) of Louisville, Kentucky; two sisters, Alice Sheldon of Remington, Indiana and Jean Rosenkranz (husband: Robert) of Arizona; one brother, Ted Clark of California; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 12 p.m. (Central Time) at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Rensselaer with Pastor Benjamin Hertel officiating. Donations in Florence’s memory may be made to the National Eye Institute for Glaucoma research. Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer is handling the arrangements.
