Gary Howard Depew

Gary Howard DePew, 61, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, February 28, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on December 6, 1958 to Elsie (Mercer) DePew and the late Edward DePew. He grew up in Kalkaska, Michigan and was a graduate of Kalkaska High School.

After school, Gary began working on oil rigs and followed the oil boom to Oklahoma where he resided for over 40 years. He was a small engine mechanic and enjoyed working on motors of all types. He was a car enthusiast, his favorite being the Ford Mustang. He enjoyed remote control cars, NASCAR, and basketball, especially cheering on his hometown Oklahoma Thunder. Gary had a heart of gold and will be dearly missed by his family.

He is survived by his mother, Elsie DePew; his brother, Ricky (Bonnie) DePew; and his aunt, Bonnie DePew, all of Rensselaer, Indiana; and several nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ed DePew and his sister, Jody DePew.
