George Scott Blackwell

George Scott Blackwell, 38, of Rensselaer, Indiana passed away September 26, 2018. He was born in Belen, New Mexico October 24, 1979, son of Garry and Gail (Macko) Blackwell.

On March 20, 2010 he married Tara Ann (Sutton) Blackwell. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children: Tyler, Landon, Ariana, and Trenton Blackwell; his mother, Gail Blackwell; and his brother, Seneca (Lacey) Blackwell. He was preceded in death by his father.

George was a general foreman for Consolidated Fabricators in Gary, Indiana. He loved football; he enjoyed watching his kids play, and his favorite team was the Denver Broncos. He was a NASCAR fan until Dale Earnhardt, Jr. quit racing. In his free time he enjoyed fishing. He was a great mentor who was loved by all. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 4 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
