Geraldine Anderson

Geraldine “Gerry” Anderson, 78, of Morocco passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Indianapolis. She was born in Schneider on Nov. 19, 1938, the daughter of Fred and Gladys (Ferkins) Tichacek. She was a graduate of Brook High School. On Nov. 26, 1954, in Ade, she married her husband of 56 years, Gerald Anderson. He preceded her in death on Mar. 31, 2011.

Gerry was a homemaker and worked as a custodian for the North Newton School Corp. and Morocco Elementary School for over 20 years. She was affiliated with the United Church of Morocco. She enjoyed baking and crafts, which she sold at area festivals. She was known for crocheting beautiful baby blankets. She enjoyed decorating her home and yard for Christmas, and won several awards for her Christmas lights over the years.

Gerry is survived by her loving family: two sons, Fred (Donna) Anderson of Lake Village and Ron Anderson of Morocco; one daughter, Brenda (Willie) Coffer of Indianapolis; one sister, Vera George; 7 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Gerald; one brother, Floyd Keith; and one sister, Lena Gieselman.

Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016 from 2-4 p.m., and 6-8 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 12, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
