Glen R. Snow age 93 of Rensselaer passed away late Tuesday February 17, 2009 at Jasper County Hospital. He was born in Jasper County on October 11, 1915, the son of the late Charles and Stella (Nuss) Snow. He lived in Rensselaer most of his life, except for living in Crown Point for 30 years. He attended the Rensselaer Public Schools and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. He was a carpenter working for Youngstown Steel Mill for several years retiring in the early 1970's. He was a member of the Carpenter's Local #1005 of Hobart, a member of VFW Post #1279 in Rensselaer, and a member of the Living Stone Church of the Nazarene. He was married to Naomi Williamson on April 17, 1937 in Crown Point. She died April 23, 1979. He married Peggy (Long) Berg on February 14, 1998 in Rensselaer. She survives. Also surviving are daughters Patricia Francis Snow of Portland, Oregon and Shirley (Peter) Boer of Hebron, IN. Sisters are Gladys Armstrong of Portage, IN and Violet (Bill) LaCosse of Fair Oaks. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren survive. Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Friends may call at the Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer from 8 A.M. until time of funeral service at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 21st. Rev. Amber Karkosky-Litten will officiate with interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Rensselaer. Family suggests memorials to Living Stone Church of the Nazarene in Rensselaer.
