Gordon Burdick

Gordon S. Burdick, Jr., 74 of Parr, passed away May 13, 2009 at Setion Speciality Hospital inside St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. He was born March 9, 1935 in Framingham, Massachusetts, son of the late Gordon S. Burdick, Sr., and Alice G. (Allen) Burdick. He was educated in the Framingham Schools and moved to Parr upon his retirement from the Navy in August of 1971. On December 24, 1968 he married Mary Ellen Longstreth at the Parr Baptist Church. She survives. Gordon spent 20 years serving in the U.S. Navy , retiring in August, 1971 as Chief Petty Officer with the U.S. Navy Submarine Service. He then worked for the Rensselaer Power Plant for 33 years, retiring as Superintendent of the Power Plant in 2005. Family suggests memorials to the Parkinson's Research Foundation. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date to be announced
