Guy Hoaks

Guy A. Hoaks, Sr., age 77 of Morocco passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon November 23rd at Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer. He was born in Rensselaer November 29, 1930 the son of the late Cecil Henry and Lela Alice (Sparger) Hoaks. He was a lifetime Newton County resident living the past 32 years in Morocco. He was educated at the Ade and Brook Schools. On October 8, 1955 in Rensselaer he married Rosalind Wooton. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having proudly served his country in the Korean War. He was a truck driver for 17 years for Newton County Highway, having retired in 1993. He was an avid NASCAR and race fan. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children and other family members as well as all his friends.
