Harley Wayne Gibson, age 81, passed from this life to be with the Lord Sunday, April 27, 2008. He was born October 22, 1926, in New Liberty, IL to Webb and Elsie Gibson. Harley was the oldest of 7 children. Preceding him in death were 3 brothers and 1 sister. He served in the U.S. Army in W.W. II. Married Betty Jean Menser on August 23, 1947, who survives. He is also survived by 3 sons and 1 daughter: Harley (Cheri) Gibson, Jr. of Brook; Steven Gibson of Morocco; Michael Gibson of Fair Oaks; Susan (Ron) Amey of Lafayette, IN. One brother Larry (Vergie) Gibson of Morocco, and a sister Diana Dewey of Rensselaer. Several Grandchildren & Great grandchildren, many nieces & nephews survive. He lived and farmed in Newton County for 40 years and owned & operated a trucking business for several years, retiring in 1991. He was a 50 year member of the Morocco Masonic Lodge 372 and 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis. He served on the North Newton School Board, the Soil & Water Conservation Board and the ASCS Board. Family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
