Harold Long

March 18, 1929 — March 17, 2011

Harold Vern (Stowers) Long, age 81 of Rensselaer, passed away early Thursday morning, March 17, 2011 at George Ade Memorial Healthcare Center in Brook. He was born in Medaryville on March 18, 1929, son of the late Clarence O. Long and Esther Delores Snow.


Harold attended the Jasper County Public Schools. He served his country in the United States Army from 1950-1952. On June 22, 1968 in Las Vegas, NV he married Dorothy Ann Stowers. She preceded him in death. Harold was a carpenter and a truck driver. In addition to Rensselaer, he had lived in Utah for 15 years and San Bernardino, CA for over 30 years.


Harold is survived by two sons, Harold Stowers, Jr. of Brook and Danny Eugene Stowers of California; two daughters, Pamela Rowinski of Goodland and Donna (Mrs. James) Lock of Westville. He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.


Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Independence Cemetery in rural Jasper County.
