Helen A. Griffin

Helen A. Griffin, 98, of rural Rensselaer passed away at her home March 17, 2008 after 2 yrs of declining health. She was born August 23, 1909, the daughter of the late Charles C, and Hattie (Karr) Parks and was educated at Surrey, Fair Oaks, and Rensselaer Schools. She was a lifetime Jasper County resident and on December 11, 1928 she married Conard "Connie" Griffin, he died May 22, 1988. She was a homemaker and member of First Christian Church of Rensselaer. She was very active in the Christian Church Circle and Jordan Township Home Ec Club. Her favorite sport was playing dartball. She had been in failing health the past two yrs and her primary caregivers were grandson, Douglas Griffin and his significant other, Nolia Sweat who cared for her at her home.
