Herman Nagel

Herman J. Nagel, age 89 of Rensselaer passed away June 29, 2009 at Rensselaer Care Center. He was born in Rensselaer March 19, 1920, son of the late Bernard and Francis (Schmidt) Nagel. He was a lifetime area resident except for a few years he lived in the Chicago area. He was a 1938 Graduate of Rensselaer High School and served during World War II in the US Navy. He married Mary M. (Bossung) on July 27, 1946. She died on September 4, 2003. He had been a sheet metal worker for several years in Gary and Chicago, then farmed until his retirement in March of 1983. Herman was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and a very active participant in Church activities until health began to fail him.

He will be greatly missed by his many friends as well as his loving family.
