Juanita Evelyn Banister

April 18, 1926 — October 3, 2016

Juanita Evelyn Banister, 90, of Morocco, passed away Monday morning, October 3, 2016 at Signature Healthcare in Lafayette. She was born in Enos, Indiana on April 18, 1926, the daughter of William Harrison Bingham and Margaret May (Brenneisen) Bingham. She graduated from Morocco High School with the class of 1943. In November of 1943, she married Norman Ray Banister. He preceded her in death.


Juanita lived in Berwyn, Illinois for many years. She worked as a secretary for Leaseway Leasing, a subsidiary of the Pennsylvania Railraod, in downtown Chicago for almost 25 years. She returned to Remington in 1988. She was a member of the Morocco American Legion Post #146 and a former member of the VFW. She enjoyed cooking and fiddling around the house.


Juanita is survived by her loving family: one daughter, Myrna Anderson of Remington; two sisters, Audrey Johnson (husband: Gene) of California and Dottie Kupke of Arizona; two brothers, Larry Bingham (wife: Judy) of Morocco and Denny Bingham (wife: Peggy) of California; two grandsons, Robert Anderson and Dan Anderson (wife: Denise), all of Remington; and two great-granddaughters, Colleen Anderson and Nicole Powell (husband: Jeff), both of Remington.


She was preceded in death by: her parents, William and Margaret Bingham; her husband, Norman Ray Banister; two sisters; and two brothers.
