Julie J. Hoffman

Julia (Julie) J. Hoffman, 71, of Rensselaer, Indiana passed peacefully at home with her loving family on Sunday, March 12, 2023. She was born in Rensselaer on August 15, 1951 to the late William Tilton and Mildred (Overton) Tilton.

She was a 1969 graduate of Rensselaer Central High School. Julie married her loving husband James Hoffman October 18, 1975 in Rensselaer.

Julie worked as a clerk in several local stores. She also worked for Northway and Schumacher’s before becoming a mother to their two girls. She then cared for the girls and was a homemaker. Julie, also known as “T”, enjoyed reading, exchanging books with her siblings and daughters. She enjoyed her cats Lily and Jack as well. Julie attended Trinity United Methodist Church of Rensselaer.

She is survived by her husband, James; two children: Carrie (Alex) Warren, and Caitlin (Aaron) Doughty; one granddaughter: Alayna, her pride and joy; siblings: Carol (Louis) Haywood, David Tilton, and John (Rita) Tilton.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Steve; and sister: Linda.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 11 a.m. CST until time of Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Pastor Andy Martin officiating. Inurnment to follow at Memory Gardens of Rensselaer.
