Karen L. Morris

Karen L. Morris, 75, of Rensselaer, IN passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 11, 2025 with her husband by her side. She was born in Rensselaer on November 21, 1949, the daughter of Herbert Melton, Jr. and Alice (Mitchell) Melton.

She was a 1969 graduate of Monon High School. On September 26, 1970 she married the love of her life, Russell E. Morris.

Karen worked in housekeeping at Jasper County Hospital. She enjoyed her work and was very diligent at it. She was also a minister for Jehovah’s Witnesses. Karen loved animals and children. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and traveling with her husband.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Russell Morris; one brother, Jeffrey (Julie) Melton; and two sisters, Joan Jeffries and Cathy (Bob) Walker. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sharon Melton; and her brother-in-law, Marvin Jeffries.

Visitation will be Friday, September 26, 2025 from 9 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. (Central Time) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Joshua Snyder officiating.
