Katherine Wright

Katherine “Kathy” Edna Wright, age 63, of Rensselaer, passed away at 3 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Vibra Hospital of Northwestern Indiana in Crown Point, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gary on October 20, 1948, the daughter of Anne (Hyndman) Williams and the late John Williams. On November 19, 1966, in Gary, she married Albert Wright. Kathy had been a resident of Rensselaer for the past 10 years, having moved here from Lake County. She worked as a CNA for Miller Merry Manor in Hobart. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, playing Bingo, singing karaoke, and shopping.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Albert Wright; two children, George Howard Wright of Lake Station and Betty Ann Wright (Patrick John) of Rensselaer; her mother, Anne Moore of Lake Station; three siblings, John H. Williams (Melody) of Danville, IL, Bobbie Steeley of Lake Station, and Janey Luttrell (Jeff) of Hobart; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her father and a son, Albert.

Friends may call on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 4 – 8 p.m. CDT at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, July 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. CDT at the funeral home with Pastor Delmas Conley officiating. Interment will follow at Osborne Cemetery, on County Road 450 East in Hanging Grove Township. Memorials are suggested to the National Association for Down Syndrome.
