Jeanette Randolph

Kathryn “Jeanette” Smith Randolph, 86, of Rensselaer, IN went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2025. Jeanette was born in Rensselaer on September 10, 1938 to Ralph and Alice (Owen) Smith.

She married Ernie A. Randolph on December 22, 1957; they were married for 65 years. They had three daughters: Tammy, Vickie and Laura.

Jeanette worked as a cook, and later as a cashier at St. Joseph’s College for over 40 years. She was also a caregiver to the sick and elderly. Jeanette was compassionate and enjoyed helping people. She was very generous and gave freely of her time and resources.

She is survived by her three daughters: Tammy Baker, Vickie (Mark) Aughinbaugh and Laura (Ron) Odle; her seven grandchildren: Kathryn (Brandon) Brown, Russ (Megan) Odle, Blake (Jen) Randolph, Brittany Odle (Ryan), Mark Aughinbaugh (Kayce), Kaitlyn (Adam) Herod, Kelli (Tylor) Lovins; and five great-grandchildren: Nevan Odle, Brooklyn and Karington Brown, Henry Randolph and Simon Herod. Jeanette is survived by her siblings: Floyd Smith, John Smith, Larry (Kay) Smith, Linda Gangsei and Nancy Patton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie, and siblings: Ralph Smith, George Smith, Rose Wren, Stella Groom, Betty Benson, Harold Smith and Robert Smith.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral at noon (CDT) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Pastor Larry Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Weston Cemetery, Rensselaer. Steinke Funeral Home is honored to be handling the arrangements.
