Kimberly A. Blackhall, 59, of Indianapolis, passed away Sept. 16, 2013. She was born in Rensselaer July 18, 1954, daughter of Gordon Blackhall and Jeannette (Nesius) Blackhall.
Kim grew up in Rensselaer and graduated from RCHS. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree at Ball State University. She worked as a Community Consultant for Sycamore Services, Inc. in Indianapolis and was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Indianapolis. Kim enjoyed helping others. She was a sincere and loyal caregiver to all of those in need, especially animals. She volunteered her time at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum and the Indianapolis Zoo.
Kim is survived by her loving family: mother Jeannette Blackhall of Rensselaer; two sisters, Julie (Barry) Birkmeyer of Kansas City, KS and Kelly (Greg) Bocwinski of Hampton, VA; and many treasured nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her father, Gordon Blackhall; two sisters, Sue Gilmore and Cathy Weliky; a nephew, Tad Gilmore; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 from 10 – 11 a.m. (Central Time) at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 318 N. McKinley Avenue in Rensselaer. A Funeral Mass will be at the church at 11 a.m. (Central Time) with Father Don Davison officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
