Kristine E. Potts

Kristine E. “Krissy” Potts, 44, of Morocco, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Krissy was affectionately known by her family as “Bug-e-boo”. She was born in Rensselaer on Oct. 3, 1969, the daughter of the late Richard “Dick” Potts and the late Elizabeth (Wright) Potts.

Krissy attended North Newton High School and was a lifetime area resident. She was a housekeeper for many families over the years. She was affiliated with the Fellowship of Living Hope Church in Rensselaer. Krissy liked to laugh and loved animals and spending time with her family and friends.

Krissy is survived by her loving family: life partner Chad Laffoon of Morocco; three children: Sasha Riley (fiancé: Sheena Gipson) of Rensselaer, Derek Riley and Kirstin Pasierb, both of Morocco; two step-children: Kyle Laffoon and Kassidy Laffoon, both of Roselawn; two brothers: Rick Potts (wife: Connie) of Morocco and Dicky Potts of Kentland; three sisters: Linda (Kucharski) Potts of Thorntown, IN, Ilene Winder (husband: George) of Poquoson, VA, and Cathy Pruitt (husband: Michael) of Rensselaer; and five grandchildren and one on the way. She was preceded in death by: her father, mother and grandparents.

Friends may call on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Edwin Bontreger officiating. Interment will follow at Russell Chapel Cemetery in Newton County. Memorial donations are suggested to the Jasper County Animal Shelter.
