Lester LaVerne Wolford, age 86 of Beaverville, Illinois passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at his home. He was born March 21, 1924 in Morocco, Indiana, son of the late Philip C. and Ruby C. (Winslow) Wolford. On March 10, 1955, in Morocco, he married Beatrice L. (Reagan) Wolford. She survives. He was a lifetime Morocco area resident. He was employed for 35 years at Dyer Construction, retiring in 1982.
Surviving along with his wife are sons, Lester Wolford, Jr. of Winamac, Indiana and Donnie Wolford of Monticello, Indiana. Daughters surviving are, Carol (Mrs. William) Davenport of Monticello, Indiana, Joyce Scott of Plainsville, Indiana, Karen (Mrs. Rick) Adkins of Buffalo, Indiana, and Geneva (Mrs. Jeff) Cook of Rensselaer, Indiana. Also surviving is a brother, Elmer (wife: Rosie) Wolford of Sugar Creek, Tennessee. Fifteen Grandchildren and seven Great-Grandchildren also survive.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents, daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Charles Dale, two sisters and four brothers.
Friends may call Saturday, February 5, 2011, from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Steinke Funeral Home Brunton Chapel of Morocco. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Royal Voeller officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
