Lois Irene Boring

Lois Irene Boring, 67, of Rensselaer, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015. She was born in Rensselaer on February 17, 1947, the daughter of the late Robert Downs and Myrtle (Demps) Downs.

Lois attended Rensselaer Schools. She married Thomas Boring March 19, 1965. She was a bus driver for Rensselaer Schools and for summer detasseling. She retired in 2009. Lois attended First Assembly of God in Rensselaer and was a Sunday School attendant.

Lois is survived by her loving family: two sons, Jeffrey Scott Boring of Lafayette and Rodney (Jennifer) Boring of Rensselaer; one daughter, Donya (Damon) McKinnon of Westfield; four sisters: Karen (Tom) Kennedy of Rensselaer, Judy (Melvin) Lane of Rensselaer, Pat (Marvin) Wilder of Lafayette, Mabel (Jim) Champley of Rossville; and 9 Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her husband Thomas Boring; father Robert Downs; brother Bobby Downs; and son-in-law Carl Mullins.

Friends may call on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. (CST) and Funeral services will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 at 10:30a.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Pastor Melvin Lane officiating.
