Mae Culp

Mae L. Culp, age 95 of rural Rensselaer, passed away November 19, 2008 at Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer. She was born in Pulaski County Indiana on March 16, 1913, a daughter of the late August F. and Rose (Brandenburg) Tigler. She was a lifetime area resident and on October 1, 1932 in Francesville she married Kenneth R. Culp. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1997. She was educated in the Pulaski and White County Schools and had been a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Rensselaer. She loved gardening and raising flowers and had quite a "green Thumb", plants seemed to florish under her care. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and Bunko with her friends. A son survives, Kenneth L. "Kenny" Culp, Jr. (wife, Sandra) of Rensselaer. There are 4 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren surviving along with several nephews and nieces. Sister, Mary Burton of Rensselaer survives. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Frederick George Culp, daughter, Carol Tonner, sister Florence Tiede and granddaughter, Suzy Culp. Friends may call from 2 till 6 P.M. Sunday, November 23rd at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services are Monday, November 24th at 10:00 A.M. at Steinke Funeral Home with Pastor John Hostetter officiating. Interment follows at Weston Cemetery in Rensselaer. Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church in Mae's memory.
