Marcheta Ann Camblin

April 19, 1924 — July 26, 2023

Marcheta Ann Camblin, age 99, of Morocco passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at her home. Marcheta, known to her family and friends as “Skeet” was born April 19, 1924, in Tiltonville, Ohio to Jim Hamilton and Creta (Owens) Hamilton. At an early age her family moved to Lake County Indiana because of her dad’s job. They later moved to Newton County, Indiana when she was in Jr. High School and graduated from Morocco High School.

On May 21, 1943 Skeet married James Edward Camblin just a few days before Ed shipped out to Europe to fight in World War II. Marcheta worked at Kingsbury Munitions plant in her early years after her marriage to Ed. She also worked at Permonite Corporation for 16 years, waitressed at the Willow Inn in Enos and was an assistant librarian in Morocco. She attended the Morocco Christian Church most of her life and was a member of the Lazy L. Dude Ranch where she loved to square dance.

Skeet was creative and could make anything with a sewing machine. She loved her flower garden, was an avid reader, and enjoyed dancing. After Ed retired from the Morocco Post Office as a mail carrier, she and Ed spent winters in Florida where they both enjoyed fishing. Everyone that knew Skeet thought of her as a sweet person.

Marcheta is survived by her husband Ed, daughter Marsha (husband Jerry) Vaughn, one grandson Eric Warrick, one granddaughter Heather (Tom) Doyle. Also surviving are great grandchildren: Jordan (Brook) Doyle, Kayla Doyle and one great-great granddaughter Blaire. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
