Marlene Esther Mattocks, 78, of Rensselaer, passed away Sunday evening, August 9, 2015 at George Ade Memorial Health Care Center. She was born in Rensselaer on October 18, 1936, daughter of the late Albert H. Schultz and Martha L. (Krueger) Schultz. She graduated from Fair Oaks High School and was a lifelong area resident.
On June 17, 1956, at St. John's Lutheran Church, she married Raymond Lewis Mattocks. Marlene was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed bowling, playing golf and watching the birds out her window. She loved attending her children and grandchildren’s ball games when she was able, and rarely missed a game. She was the secretary of her ladies bowling league and she was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Marlene is survived by her loving family: husband Raymond Mattocks; children: Mark (Susan) Mattocks, Bret (Cathy) Mattocks, Marla (David) Falkenburg, Lane Mattocks, Kreg (Glenda) Mattocks, Kirk Mattocks and Dene (Mary Beth) Mattocks; 19 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; and two brothers, Daryl and Darwin.
Friends may call on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 10 a.m. until noon at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held at the church at noon with Pastor David Mueller officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. A funeral luncheon will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Rensselaer following interment. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church.
