Mary H. Bennett-Zerby

Mary H. Bennett-Zerby, 79, of Rossville, IN passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. She was born in Van Wert, OH on June 28, 1945, the daughter of Charles J. and Marie (Pearson) Watson.

Mary worked as a nurse’s aide at the Rensselaer Care Center for many years. In her younger years she enjoyed playing softball and bowling. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family.

She is survived by her husband, Allen Zerby of Rossville, IN; her two sons, Robert (Carol) Bennett, Jr. of Fair Oaks, IN and James Bennett of Rensselaer, IN; three step-children: Amy (Rich) Wynn, Rusty (Tara) Zerby, and Kurt Zerby, all of Morocco, IN; two grandchildren, Aaron Bennett of Merrillville, IN and Amanda Bennett of Milwaukee, WI; and one sister, Sharon Blyth of Van Wert, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Marie Watson; one brother, Kenneth Watson; one sister, Diana Stevens; daughter-in-law Debra Billens; and brother-in-law Gary Blyth.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 4 p.m. until time of the funeral at 6 p.m. CDT at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco. Pastor Wayne Williams officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Oakland Cemetery.
