Mary Burton

Mary K. Burton, age 91 of Rensselaer, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Clarian Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. She was born in Rensselaer on December 20, 1917, a daughter of the late August and Rose (Brandenburg) Tigler and had lived in Rensselaer for most of her life, except a period of about five years that she lived in Wisconsin in the 1990's. She had been educated at the Rensselaer Public Schools and had been a bookkeeper for the Indiana State Highway Depart. for 9 years and the Jasper County Farm Bureau for 3 years. On May 18, 1938 in Rensselaer she married Clarence Burton. He died August 7, 1963. She was affiliated with the Methodist Church. Mary will be greatly missed by her family and all her friends.
