Matthew Evans

Matthew Evans, 53, of Morocco, passed away Tuesday morning, May 17, 2016 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He was born in Texas on June 11, 1962.

Matt retired from Reiter Automotive where he was employed as a millwright for 24 years. He was also the Deputy Trustee of Beaver Township. He was a craftsman, artist and teacher of art. His passion was playing the drums and guitar. His works as a muralist can be seen at the Westfield Community Pool in Morocco and the Newton County Fairgrounds.

Matt is survived by his daughter Rhalina “Maxi” Evans; “the love of his life” Mindy Mathis and “the babies”: Hannah, Sarah, Katie, and John; “Mom” Bev Bingham; “brother” Scott Jackson (fiancé: Cara); sister Crystal “Sissy” Seaman (husband: Robert) and two nephews from Florida; brothers: Michael Moore of Texas and Marty Lindig of Louisiana; four other siblings; and his grandmother Aileen Shearer.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Beaver Township Community Center in Morocco. Dinner will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help defray expenses. Share memories and condolences online at www.SteinkeFuneralHome.com.
