Michael Dawson

MICHAEL DAWSON, 42, of Lafayette, formerly of Rensselaer, passed away unexpectedly, early Thursday morning, July 8, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital in Lafayette. Mike was born in Watseka, IL, on May 15, 1968, son of Paul Dawson and the late Lois (Hall) Dawson of Rensselaer. Mike grew up in Rensselaer and was a 1986 Rensselaer Central High School graduate. On June 5, 1993 in Rensselaer, he married Heather Arndt. She survives. Mike was manager of Speedway Service Station in Lafayette for the past three years. Mike’s hobbies were sports and dirt track racing, along with coaching children’s baseball. Survivors include his wife, Heather; children, Michael and Madison Dawson, both at home; sister Penny (Greg) Marshall of Rensselaer; his father, Paul, and Paul’s Fiancee, Marian Weston; and 5 nephews, 5 nieces, 2 great-nephews and one great-niece. Preceding him in death were his mother and father-in-law, Dean Arndt.
