Myra Kay Carroll

Myra Kay Carroll, 64, of Rensselaer, passed away at her home on Thursday, July 23, 2015. She was born in Rensselaer on June 4, 1951, daughter of the late Harold Goad, Sr. and Bertha (Eaton) Goad. Myra attended school in Rensselaer and graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1992. She worked for 10 years in the Emergency Room at Jasper County Hospital.

She spent 10 years as a nurse in Las Vegas, Nevada before returning to Rensselaer several years ago. She enjoyed crocheting, playing games on her tablet, and listening to country music. She also loved her cats. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, and especially her grandkids.

Myra is survived by her loving family: husband Douglas Keith Carroll; children: Kimberly Kay (Garcia) Welsh (husband: David), Michelle Ann (Garcia) Percy, and Joseph Charles Garcia (wife: Lori); three brothers: Russell Goad, Larry Goad and Harold Goad, Jr.; one sister, Sherry (Goad) Picking; 15 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, and her son, Gabriel L. Garcia.
