Patricia Ann Anderson

Patricia Ann Anderson, 76, of Morocco, Indiana passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. She was born in Gary, Indiana on January 29, 1944, daughter of the late Robert Sharp Hanley and Myrl Lee (Larrance) Hanley Forsyth. She was a 1962 graduate of Mt. Ayr High School. On August 3, 1963, in Thayer, Indiana she married the love of her life, James Gordon Anderson. He preceded her in death on July 31, 2018.

Pat was the secretary for the North Newton School Corporation for 43 years. She began her career as a receptionist in August 1967. Prior to that position, she worked as the sole secretary for grades K-12 in the Mt. Ayr school system. Over the years she worked for 12 principals. She also served as the secretary for the Northwest Hoosier Conference for several years. She retired in 2011.

She was a member of the Morocco First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, and bird watching. She loved being a grandmother and cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her two children, Jeffery G. (Evangeline) Anderson of Lafayette, Indiana and Michelle (Dale) Zelhart of Farmer City, Illinois; one brother, Robert Lee (Janice) Hanley of Vancouver, Washington; her father-in-law, Dale J. Anderson of Monticello, Indiana; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jim; one sister, Janice (Hanley) Cady; and two brothers-in-law, Jon Anderson and Dan Bilyeu.

Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11 a.m. CDT at Prairie Vine Cemetery. Pastor Mark Bilyeu officiating. A Celebration of Life luncheon is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. at the Mt. Ayr Community Building, 101 E. Rensselaer St., Mt. Ayr, IN 47964. All are welcome to attend.
