Phyllis Morgan

MOROCCO -- Phyllis M. Morgan, 83, of Morocco, died at 4:33 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Born June 15, 1926, in Rensselaer, she was the daughter of the late John and Elsie Ulvat Standish. She graduated from Mt. Ayr High School in 1944.

On July 9, 1945, she married Gailard Hickman, and he preceded her in death. On Dec. 22, 1991, she married Robert Morgan, and he also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Morgan had worked in food service at North Newton schools and the Morocco IGA, and retired in 1990. She had lived in Jasper and Newton counties all her life.

She was a member of Morocco United Methodist Church and Pythian Lodge.

Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Cady of Osceola; two sons, Dennis Hickman (wife: Linda) and Dale Morgan (wife: Rose), both of Morocco; two brothers, Norman Standish (wife: Barb) of Crown Point and Jack Standish (wife: Virginia) of Rensselaer; and a sister, Irene Faris (husband: Gene) of Rensselaer.

Services will be Monday, June 7, 2010 at the Steinke Funeral Home at 10 AM. Visitation with the family will be at the Steinke Funeral Home in Morrocco Sunday from 4 to 8 PM.
