Rachel Tanner

Rachel Tanner, 80, of Francesville, passed away December 19, 2022 at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette. She was born September 13, 1942, the daughter of Benjamin and Naomi (Villalobos) Alva.

She graduated from Salem Township School as Valedictorian of her class. On December 26, 1975 she married Ronald V. Tanner. Rachel worked many years for Gehring Farms as a bookkeeper. She also worked as a clerk in Winamac for ALCO.

Rachel was a member of Medaryville Christian Church, where she was a song leader and a Sunday school teacher. She also enjoyed helping take care of her nephews.

She is survived by her husband Ronald; two brothers, four sisters-in-law, and three brothers-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, one brother, and one brother-in-law.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. (EST) at Bowman Cemetery of Francesville. David Broad officiating.
