Roger Hue Emmrich

Roger Emmrich, 73, of Morocco, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at his home. Roger was born on December 5, 1939, son of the late Herbert and Burlena (Butler) Emmrich.

Roger graduated from Morocco High School in 1959 and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He married Josephine B. Tysoe January 18, 1964, in Bedford, England. She preceded him in death, September 5, 1996. He was a semi-driver for W.O. Hopkins for 29 years, retiring in 2005. His marriage to Mary Kay Martin was on June 18, 1999. A member of the American Legion Post 146 William Chizum Post of Morocco, he was also a gun enthusiast, avid fisherman and enjoyed reading.

Roger is survived by his wife Mary Kay Emmrich of Morocco; two children, Troy (wife Marla); Adam, all of Lafayette; two sisters, Lois (Jimmie) Harrison, Schwenksville, PA; Rita Agent, Brook, IN; one brother, Royce (Linda) Emmrich, Pennington Gap, VA. He was preceded in death by his first wife Josephine B. (Tysoe) Emmrich, and his parents.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco. Funeral service will be held Friday, March 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco. Pastor Harold Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Jasper County Hospital Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice. Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco is handling the arrangements.
