Ronald L. Albrecht, Sr., age 78 of Morocco, passed away Thursday afternoon, Nov. 24, 2011 at Franciscan St. James Health in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He was born on Sept. 26, 1933 in Dolton, Illinois, son of the late Walter and Lillian (Grapenthien) Albrecht.
Ronald graduated from the Lincoln Schools in Dolton, Illinois. On July 10, 1954 in Chicago, he married his wife of 59 years, Dolores Schaefer, and she survives. Ronald had been a resident of Morocco since 2000, having previously lived in Big Flats, Wisconsin and Riverdale, Illinois. He worked for Fruit Growers Express in Chicago as a Diesel and Refrigeration Mechanic for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. He was of the Lutheran faith. Ronald enjoyed bow hunting white tail deer, woodworking, classic cars, and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
Ronald is survived by his wife Dolores of Morocco; two daughters, Susan Bandamer of North Judson and Cindy Byars (husband: Robert) of Morocco; and a son, Ronald Albrecht, Jr. (wife: Nancy) of Morocco. Six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Lori Jordan and Debra Ames; and two brothers and one sister.
Cremation was chosen and private family services will be held.
