Ronald V Tanner

Ronald V Tanner, 82, passed away April 10, 2023 at Parkview Haven in Francesville.

Ron was born to Vern and Aldine Tanner on November 22, 1940. He attended Francesville public schools, graduating in 1959. He belonged to the local 4-H club where he showed dairy cattle at the Pulaski County Fair. He continued to work on the Tanner Dairy Farm all his life. On December 26, 1975 he married Rachel Alva. Rachel passed away December 19, 2022.

Ron was a long-time member of Medaryville Christian Church. As a teen, he was very active in the vibrant Christian Church youth group. For many years he was an adult Sunday School teacher as well as Church Treasurer.

Ron and Rachel were an integral part of helping to raise two of their nephews—Danny and Troy Tanner.

Ron is survived by his brother Tim Tanner, sisters Sharon Huber (husband Chris, Sr) of Francesville, and Beth Farwell of Lincoln, IL; brothers-in-law Phil Byers of Wanatah, Moses Alva (wife Colleen) of North Judson, and Sam Alva (wife Vicky) of Medaryville; nephews Danny Tanner of Winamac and Troy Tanner of Francesville, Chris Huber, Jr (wife Lisa) of Wheatfield, IN, Chad Farwell of Lincoln, IL, Eric Farwell (wife Sarah) of Lincoln, IL, Adam Huber (wife Olivia) of Francesville, Andy Byers (wife Stacey) of Yorktown; nieces Shannon Huber of Francesville, Tonya Schieler (husband Jeremy) of Antioch, IL, Kara Holzer (husband Bart) of Nashville, TN, Lori Rutledge (husband Gabe) of Lincoln, IL, Brenda Drambarean (husband Devin) of Cave Creek, AZ, Stephanie Miller (husband Kevin) of Francesville, Tiffany Jones (husband Chad) of Ft. Wayne; as well as many great nieces and nephews and a plethora of cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Kedrick, Devon and Doris Tanner; his wife Rachel; brothers-in-law Jesse Alva and Bill Farwell; sisters-in-law Febe Byers and Ofelia Alva; and niece Angela Huber.

There will be a graveside service for Ron at the Bowman Cemetery (2166 S/1200 W) near Francesville with Ron's brother-in-law, Chris Huber, officiating at 1:30 pm (EST) on April 22, 2023.

Memorials may be made to Medaryville Christian Church.
