Ruby Jane Bacewic

Ruby “Jane” Bacewic, 61, of Huntington, Indiana, formerly of Rensselaer, passed away at her home on Monday, September 30, 2019. She was born in Elkhart on November 3, 1957, daughter of Phyllis M. (Eckert) Reith and the late Jack J. Swain. Jane was a graduate of Rensselaer Central High School. On August 2, 1976, in Rensselaer, she married Robert “Bob” Bacewic.

Jane spent most of her life in Rensselaer, moving to Huntington 14 years ago. She worked as a fork lift operator for Monon Trailer and a truck driver for Schilli Transport. She also worked as a waitress for Trail Tree Restaurant. She enjoyed woodworking, machining and working with her husband.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Bob Bacewic; two sons, Bobby (Dee) Bacewic and Chris Bacewic; her mother, Phyllis Reith; three brothers: Ron Swain, Don (Donna) Swain, and Doug Swain; one sister, Jean Ayyoub; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Swain, and one sister, Sonia Azhar.
