Ruby Hamelman, 96, of Morocco passed away early Monday morning, February 15th, at George Ade Memorial Healthcare in Brook. She was born March 3, 1913 in Fowler, daughter of the late Joseph and Ava Yarno. She attended school in the Fowler Public Schools. On May 20, 1931 in Fowler, she married Harry C. Hamelman. He died in 1961. Ruby had been a factory supervisor and worked for Dormeyer Industries in Kentland for 25 years retiring in 1978. She was affiliated with the Christian faith. She was an avid collector of frog memorabilia and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Children surviving are: Cignora (Mrs. Rex) Lee of Pharr, TX, Patricia Kinkade of Uptown, KY, Grace (Mrs. Richard) Martin of Morocco, John (wife: Dina) Hamelman of Delphi, Veronica (Mrs. Dennis) Senesac of Fowler and daughter-in-law, Beverly Hamelman of Delphi, IN. She has 26 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren surviving. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, a daughter and a son, 2 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 2 brothers, and 4 sistersVisitation is Thursday, February 18th from 10:00 A.M. (CDT) until time of funeral service at 1:00 P.M. at Steinke Funeral Home Brunton Chapel in Morocco. Rev. Thomas Vance officiating. Internment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Kentland. Memorials are suggested to the family.
