Sharon Cremeens Miller

Sharon Cremeens Miller, 74, of rural Rensselaer, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the Rensselaer Care Center. She was born in Hammond, Indiana on November 30, 1941, daughter of the late Carl and Elta Cremeens. She graduated from high school in Cedar Lake and on August 25, 1962 she married Norman Dale Miller. He preceded her in death.

Sharon was a homemaker. She was an excellent cook, and she enjoyed sewing and knitting. She loved spending time with her family watching her sons racing.

Sharon is survived by one son, Jeffery Miller (wife: Susan); three grandchildren: Frankie, Christopher and Joey Miller; one brother, Dale Cremeens; and three sisters: Sandy Reeves, Ethel Herring, and Shirley Wright (husband: Bob).

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Norman Miller, Sr.; one son, Norman Miller, Jr.; and one brother, Gary Cremeens.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 10 a.m. until noon (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at noon at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Pastor Larry B. Hansen officiating. Interment will follow at German Methodist Episcopal Cemetery in Cedar Lake, Indiana. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
