Steven Glenn Banister

Steven Glenn Banister, 65, of Roselawn, formerly of Rensselaer, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at the Rensselaer Care Center. He was born in Rensselaer on December 24, 1953, son of the late Homer Glenn Banister and Jennie Lee (Hetrick) Banister. He was a 1971 graduate of Rensselaer Central High School.

Steve worked for the Roselawn Farm Bureau Co-op, Rose Acre Farms and Saint Joseph’s College, where he was in charge of the boiler room. He enjoyed going to the gambling boats and watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears play ball.

He is survived by his two sisters, Wanda (Melvin) Albright and Janet Banister, both of Roselawn. Three nieces also survive: Wanda Marie (Gene) Spencer of Goshen, Rhonda Sue (David) Lockard of Roselawn and Jennie Lee (Tony) Carter of Morocco. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 2 p.m. with Ron Gann officiating. Steinke Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Memories and condolences may be shared at SteinkeFuneralHome.com.
