Suzanne Culp

Suzy Culp, age 50, the beloved daughter of Sandra and Kenny Culp of rural Rensselaer passed away Saturday, June 21st at Jasper County Hospital. Suzy had fought many battles with serious illnesses beginning in 1966 at the age of 8 with a very rare brain cancer, again in 1995, in 1997 with breast cancer and 2006 with lung cancer. She was plagued with 10 years of double vision requiring eye surgeries in 2004 & 2005. Since 1995 she would arise at 4 a.m. everyday without fail and work strenuously on doing her exercises to keep her limited mobility from deteriorating. Since 1995 she has had to be in a wheelchair. Although she suffered much, she never once complained and would always wear a smile. She loved to read and has read the Bible through 4 times. She sang 50 songs a day for her speech therapy and has a long list of favorite songs. In her younger years when she was able she loved to cook, horseback ride, garden, and loved farming with her family. She was an avid fan of the Honorable Bob Dole and communicated with him on a regular basis, and has many of his tapes and autographed books. Suzy was a very special, young lady and will be sadly missed by her parents, brothers and family along with so many others her life touched over the years in so many ways. Although we will miss her greatly, we know that today she is with the Lord she loved and has a new body free of the pain and infirmities and is walking again.
